The flower will start off green, than bloom and develop to pink and than reddish-purple. These plants are attractive in a garden bed or border, and have nondescript foliage is hidden which fades away when blooming. The charming purple-red drumsticks bloom in midsummer and than fade as summer wears on. The plants are vigorous and the flowers are long-lasting, and widely used for fresh and dried cut flower arrangements.
